What You'll Do
- Provide regular direction and guidance to team members while maintaining operational control over one or more food production teams.
- Supervise and manage production staff, including monitoring time, attendance, and performance.
- Oversee daily operations of production lines, kitchen, and oven areas to ensure smooth workflow.
- Set daily priorities and direct the team based on the production plan.
- Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and production schedules to meet company goals and KPIs.
- Support, coach, and develop team leads to ensure effective team management and high productivity.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and skill development of new hires.
- Ensure all employees are properly trained and follow safety, food safety, and operational procedures.
- Uphold health, safety, GMP, and food safety standards, including proper PPE use and visual quality checks.
- Manage labor efficiency, control costs, and achieve department KPI targets.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate documentation and generate reports using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Collaborate with FSQA, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other departments to support efficient operations.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.
What You Bring
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience actively supervising manufacturing production, with supervisory responsibility and leading a team in a fast-paced food production environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word required).
- Experience managing and reporting on KPIs.
- Basic math and analytical skills required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cold production environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Chilled food experience preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Certification and training in HACCP, Food Handling/ServSafe, Culinary Arts, or CCP’s helpful.
- Prior supervisory or lead experience in production or food manufacturing preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and workplace safety standards preferred.
Working Conditions
- Cold manufacturing facility with exposure to noise and machinery.
- Must adhere to safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Prolonged standing and walking are routinely required.
- May lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Routinely required to stand, walk, bend, carry, crouch, grasp, hold, kneel, lift, push/pull, reach, sit, squat, stand, stoop, stretch, turn, twist, talk, listen and communicate with others.
Shift $ Hours
- Full-time position. Flexibility is required for mandatory overtime and schedule changes, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on production needs.
Base Pay
- $25.88 USD/hourly
