Role Overview:

As an Associate Technical Program Manager, you will work directly with our manufacturing partners in the United States. Utilizing your engineering background and manufacturing process knowledge, you will manage high mix/low volume projects ensuring they are executed within scope, to customer requirements, and within budget, all while maintaining customer satisfaction. You will ensure a match between our customers’ requirements and the capabilities of the manufacturing partners assigned to each project. You will schedule assigned work orders, address in-process questions from manufacturing partners, provide production status visibility to customers, and mitigate major project risks.

Please Note: Ideal candidates for this role will have between 5 - 7 years equivalent work experience with a minimum of 2 years in a project management role in hardware/manufacturing as an OEM or, ideally, as a contract manufacturer. Also note, this is not a senior level role or a software program management position.

This position supports our US Manufacturing Partners and will therefore require working a shift equivalent to Pacific Time business hours in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

- Project Management: Manage projects from execution to ensure success by adhering to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.

- Risk Mitigation: Mitigate risks and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of orders to builders’ design specifications.

- Work Order Assignment: Take ownership of scheduling and overseeing the distribution of assigned manufacturing work orders to manufacturing partners.

- Production Issue Resolution: Address technical questions from manufacturers on how to best manufacture parts and build assigned products.

- Change Order Management: Evaluate and implement post-sale change requests from stakeholders while mitigating associated risks.

- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and drive tactical and strategic improvements in the Technical Project Management workflow.

- Communication Management: Communicate proactively with all personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.

- Manage projects throughout entire execution to ensure success by adhering to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.

- Mitigate risks and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery of orders to builders’ design specifications.

- Communicate proactively with all personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years of equivalent work experience with at least 2 years in a project management role in hardware/manufacturing as an OEM or contract manufacturer.

- Strong team orientation, excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Previous experience working night shifts.

- Fluent in written and spoken English, with experience working in multicultural environments.

- Background in working with at least three of the following manufacturing processes:

- 3DP Printing (Preferred)

- CNC Machining (MUST)

- Rapid Tooling (Preferred)

- Injection Molding (Preferred)

- Urethane Casting

- Sheet Metal Fabrication

- Proven project management skills: scope, timing, and quality management.

- Good understanding of quality management, testing, and logistics.

- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, managing project requirements, aligning expectations, and maintaining project communications through successful project completion.

- Experience in low volume piece part and proto builds (Preferred).

- Excellent problem-solving skills and results-oriented.

- Demonstrated ability to manage delivery schedules across tight deadlines.

- Meticulous, detail-oriented, and inclined towards documentation.

- History of data-based decision making.

- Self-starter, efficient in managing time, and capable of completing work without active supervision.

- Adaptable and gritty, able to work with ambiguous or under-defined processes while achieving project goals.

- Ability to improve the reliability and flexibility of systems.
