Role Overview:
As an Associate Technical Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing high mix/low volume projects directly with our manufacturing partners in India. Your engineering expertise and manufacturing process knowledge will ensure projects are executed within scope, meeting customer requirements, and staying within budget. You will bridge the gap between customer expectations and manufacturing capabilities, ensuring seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction.
Please Note: Ideal candidates for this role will have 5-7 years of equivalent work experience and a minimum of 2 years in a project management role in hardware/manufacturing as an OEM or contract manufacturer. This is not a senior level role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
- Risk Mitigation: Coordinate with various stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Work Order Assignment: Manage the scheduling and distribution of manufacturing work orders to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Production Issue Resolution: Address technical questions from manufacturers, ensuring optimal production of assigned parts.
- Change Order Management: Evaluate and implement post-sale change requests while managing associated risks.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive improvements in workflow and systems used by the Technical Project Management team.
- Communication Management: Proactively communicate with all involved personnel to identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
Desired Traits and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 5-7 years of equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years in a project management role in hardware/manufacturing as an OEM or contract manufacturer.
- Strong team orientation and communication skills, with excellent verbal and written proficiency in English.
- Experience working night shifts is preferred.
- Fluent in English, with experience in multicultural environments.
- Expertise in at least three of the following manufacturing processes:
- CNC Machining (MUST)
- Die Casting (Preferred)
- Sheet Metal Fabrication (Preferred)
- 3DP Printing (Preferred)
- Proven project management skills, including scope, timing, and quality management.
- Good understanding of quality management, testing, and logistics.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and aligning project requirements.
- Experience with low volume piece part and proto builds (Preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and results-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage delivery schedules and meet tight deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
- Data-based decision-making history.
- Self-starter with efficient time management skills, capable of working independently.
- Adaptable and resilient, able to work with ambiguous processes and still deliver high-quality results.
- Ability to develop and improve repeatable and adaptable systems.
