What you'll do

The IT Systems Engineer is a key member of the IT Infrastructure team, responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems used to manage and control end-user devices, services, and enterprise applications. This role handles 2nd and 3rd-level technical support, system optimization, and ensures the stability, security, and scalability of platforms such as Entra, Jamf, Intune, Microsoft Office 365, MS Defender, Atlassian tools, and other IT systems. The role requires strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to system management, and effective troubleshooting skills.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration and Maintenance:

• Administer and maintain core IT systems, including:
• Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) for identity and access management.
• Microsoft Intune and Jamf for device management.
• Microsoft Office 365 suite, including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and related tools.
• MS Defender for endpoint protection.
• Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) for collaboration and ticketing.
• Monitor system performance, apply updates, and ensure optimal uptime for critical IT services.
  
  

Support And Troubleshooting

• Provide 2nd and 3rd-level support for IT systems and infrastructure issues, resolving escalated incidents efficiently.
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement permanent fixes or system improvements.
• Collaborate with IT Support and Hardware teams to address complex technical challenges related to device management and access.
  
  

Network Infrastructure

• Administer and maintain Cisco Meraki infrastructure, including access points, switches, and security appliances.
• Manage and troubleshoot VPN solutions, ensuring secure and reliable remote access for employees.
• Monitor network performance and connectivity, resolving issues proactively to minimize downtime.
• Implement network segmentation, VLANs, and routing configurations to optimize performance and security.
  
  

Configuration And Projects

• Configure IT systems to align with organizational policies and operational needs.
• Lead and support IT projects, such as system migrations, upgrades, or integrations with other enterprise tools.
• Develop and maintain system automation workflows for routine tasks, using tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  
  

Security And Compliance

• Implement and enforce IT security measures, including role-based access controls, encryption, and endpoint security policies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, data protection regulations, and audit requirements for all IT systems.
  
  

Documentation And Knowledge Sharing

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide guidance and training to junior team members and IT Support staff on system usage and best practices.
  
  

What you will bring:

Technical Skills And Experience

• Proven experience in a similar role, managing enterprise IT systems in a medium-to-large organization.
• Deep expertise in administering and supporting:
• Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) and hybrid identity solutions.
• Intune and Jamf for device management.
• Microsoft Office 365 administration and troubleshooting.
• MS Defender for endpoint security.
• Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, DNS, VPNs, and firewalls (experience with Meraki is a plus).
• Scripting and automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for task automation and system management.

Qualifications

• Several years of hand-on experience in similar environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or Jamf Certified Tech are strongly preferred.
• ITIL certification or experience with IT service management frameworks is an advantage.
