We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Category Manager to join our Global Procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing the end-to-end value of specific categories of goods and services, driving cost savings, improving supplier performance, and ensuring supply chain efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, negotiation expertise, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement category strategies that align with business objectives and deliver value through cost savings, innovation, and risk management.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure high performance, compliance, and continuous improvement. Establish and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
  • Cost Optimization: Drive cost reduction initiatives through effective negotiation, demand management, and process improvement. Conduct spend analysis and identify opportunities for savings.
  • Contract Management: Lead contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that mitigate risk and support business goals. Manage contract lifecycle from drafting to execution and renewal.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and legal teams, to understand business requirements, align on priorities, and ensure seamless procurement processes.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, supplier capabilities, and competitive dynamics. Use insights to inform category strategies and decision-making.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track category performance, supplier performance, and procurement efficiency. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management.
  • Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Progressive experience in procurement, supply chain management, or category management.
  • Proven track record of delivering cost savings and value in a procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with contract management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Professional certification such as CPSM, CIPS, or PMP.
  • Experience in the renewable energy or technology sector.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
  • Knowledge of lean and six sigma methodologies.
